ABOUT THE BOOK
Storms at sea have no limits except what God places on them (Job 38:8–10). The waves are so high and so powerful that poorly built vessels cannot withstand the pressure. Neither can we withstand the pressure and destruction of life’s storms unless we are prepared ahead of time for what may come against us and have a rock-solid foundation to anchor us.
With the storm headed our way, we should raise a warning flag now for the church to be aware of and prepare for the arrival of several groups or categories of deceivers that bring the storm with them. They bring the winds of confusion and deception taking direct aim at believers in Christ. The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 11 of their coming and the possibility that we might be led astray from our sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
In its simplest form, that is what this book is about; it is a warning sign, a red flag, a call for preparation and a watchful eye. Just like sailors preparing for unexpected storms, believers in Christ must also be prepared so we will not only survive but thrive, which is God’s intention for the church.
